Can you specify "normal"? I am a great believer of "not one of us on this planet is normal". Normal would be awfully dull, mundane and imbecilic. But, that's just my opinion. People are vicious in nature. We are animals, as a squirrel is a squirrel. Look beyond "normal".

As far as everything is getting "worse and worse", we as a society are breeding morons. I live with a married couple. He sits in front of the TV all weekend, every minute he's off of work and for what? Star Trek Voyager? We all have to move. We were given a 60-day notice in June. I found a place. He hasn't. He sits in front of the "boob tube" and expects his wife to find them a place. It's shameful and selfish to watch. But because I don't have a woman of mine and haven't for a long time, that "I don't know what I'm talking about", so I can't give a good (what I thought of as friend) advice for what they need to do, so as not to go homeless.

You can look at this in so many ways that it will drive you nuts, trying to figure out why you can't find happiness with another person. Be yourself and maybe, if your town doesn't have anything for you, go to eHarmony or the like. Better chances of getting "regular" people as opposed to scams and assholes looking for a quick fuck or just being an unloved pervert. Yes, they cost a lot of money, that even I don't have.
