![]() | Nigerian Scammers Nigerian ScammersI loathe a detest these scammers who prey on the elderly. CUNTS! A recent letter to my dear old Mum, inviting her to ring a premium rate number to claim an alleged prize of £25,000. As an oldster and not wise to the ways of modern scammimg cunts, she phoned the number to claim the money and was left listening to utter bullshit for a period of 10 minutes. After the scamming cunts required her to give out personal information, she (bless her) cottoned on that all was not well and put the phone down. On receipt of the telephone bill it transpired that she was charged nearly 40 quid to listen to some cunt telling her that her worries were all solved by this fortuitous win. I have warned her against any further contact with those calling to act on behalf of "The Notification Bureau" I got hold of the offending letter and discovered an POBox Number in Ross on Wye as the company headquarters. I googled the company and indeed there was a registration for them in Ross on Wye at that other scammed folk had narrowed down the PO Box number to a regular address. The owner claimed to know nothing of the ruse. Really? I hope that the flammability of their properties increases one hundred fold Greedy Cunts. BurnYou can sidestep would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules: DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one rule and avoid 99% of scam attempts on craigslist. NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service - anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer. FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later. CRAIGSLIST IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer "buyer protection" or "seller certification" NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.) AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION. DO NOT RENT HOUSING WITHOUT SEEING THE INTERIOR, OR PURCHASE EXPENSIVE ITEMS SIGHT-UNSEEN - in all likelihood that housing unit is not actually for rent and that cheap item does not exist. DO NOT SUBMIT TO CREDIT CHECKS OR BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR A JOB OR FOR HOUSING UNTIL YOU HAVE MET THE INTERVIEWER OR LANDLORD/AGENT IN PERSON. Who should I notify about fraud or scam attempts?
