	For those lovers of the wild,The Safaricom Lewa wildlife conservancy marathon is on again.The Marathon was started back in 2000 to raise funds for conservation and community projects and has since become an annual event..This year the event will be held on the 27 June. Lewa started out as a sanctuary for endangered black rhino which faced extinction threat due to poaching for it's horn.Today it hosts most of other animals found in the African jungle. The Marathon is unique In that it's run within the lewa conservancy located at an average altitude of 5,500 feet above sea level and rough wild trails so it's a run where participants get a chance to see the wild animals. The marathon is known to be one of the ten toughest races in the world and brings together champion runners from all around the world. For lovers of the wild and those who loves camping,this serves as a great outing and a chance to mingle with world's best runners as well as a chance to have fun out in the wild and to cheer their favorite athlete es .
