 | The Lord´s prayer. There are many writings here, but some readings tell us about God´s will on the internet. It doesn´t matter what church we are attending to, except belonging to Jesus Christ and believing His direct and personal teachings (if we consider ourselves being a christian). These days I removed some dust from the New Testament. I felt the need of rediscovering things I might be forgetting for many “good” reasons (There´s no room to forget certain things). Like and Matthew furnish some complementary information regarding Christ´s direct teaching. The point of view varies, but still being truth and the same, if we agree on the subject so I recognized the brotherly way He addressed God and people, when He said such prayer, making plain “Christianity is a brotherhood”, if we attain Jesus´ teachings (no human traditions). The taught the importance of being persistent. He said we must insist on whatever thing we want as goal, and such desire must be consistent WHEN ASKING, SEEKING and KNOCKING some doors (Lk 11:10) Luke 11:2-5 & Matt 6:9-13 have such clues to look at. We learn that God is GOOD, and more than ANY father. He is not “common” like we used to be or act, because we sanctify His name by honoring whatever thing we consider belongs to His earthly kingdom. Human government –sometimes- does not work well, but our heavenly citizenship compels us to work for the betterment and BENEFIT of anything that we consider belongs to Him (this includes people). Hallowing his name is just more than revering with lips and claps, but following –literally- what Jesus taught His disciples to do: His kingdom has come within Christians, so this brotherhood should be part of our concern and attentions when “praising” God´s name. (Forgive me God! I´ve been so ill biased regarding denominations: You are ALWAYS right!). Loving people is not easy (but it´s God´s command) (See Mark 12:30-31). It means that I have to forgive “to be forgiven” (Ought!). It implies acceptance, such as people have received me WITH MY FAULTS and flaws. (Forgive me, please!) I like Jesus´ portrait in the Gospel. He is a real man and not an invention (even some say the opposite) That´s up to them! But, regarding that teaching, all cultures ask “for daily bread”… What is it more important for a living creature? Food or that spirit dwelling within all? I think God wants us to take care of body, but He pointed out that THE SPIRIT IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS for living. Spiritual “food” is ESSENCIAL to keep on walking the road we´re going to, He has made us to be humans; so He´s aware of all our needs… Are we conscious of His? History tells us men fail to govern the world and self-governing our human emotions. The kingdom of God is the restoration of this earth, with Jesus as Lord and ruler. So, each time we pray “Your kingdom come” we ask Jesus to come back (to save us and RULE THE WORLD). Being a part of this “citizenship” means that we honor the King God has pointed out and revere him BY OBEYING His teaching (just by believing His Gospel, not human traditions). Spiritual things such as forgiveness, the asking for a shield against some temptations and the understanding our human nature, are but a part of the spiritual food God wants us to ask for: He is a Father! He is a Happy giver. Material things appear first, but He wants us to ask SPIRITUAL things first (just by asking, seeking and knocking WITH INSISTANCE). The need to be consistent with whatever we ask is challenged. That “knocking” means “keep on pushing”, “Don´t give it up”… VALUE WHAT YOU HAVE. (Amen!) If I ask for anything I must be consistent with it. I persist of that and I TAKE CARE OF IT (even before having it), and that´s what He meant by Knocking at some doors: He should walk out “of bed” and say “It´s yours”. While typing “my” ideas I know they´re not mine. I have felt some tears, but I stopped to avoid damaging this keyboard: Some things are your BY WORKING, by asking, by daily effort (even some are free for you). Believe what you´re asking for. Believe! He is giving you what you are working day after day. Keep on praying according TO HIS WILL (Let His will be done), but pray for you and for others (including me). We must thank for everything we have got. We have to look after the people and things we say “we love”, such work tells a lot about the involvement of such love we develop for the things and people we are given: Nothing is oddly granted! We eat to maintain body life, but we pray to backup spiritual life, and this is a consistent work. We go to school to get a certificate, but we pray to be certificated BEFORE HIS SIGHT. Being consistent with what we have asked implies a work, and effort and care. Some things appear to be denied just because we have a wrong aim, and prayer helps us find out a nurturing way to correct, to be steady and sure (but essentials are to be asked and sought!). May His words prevail! That´s the way He´ll “wake up” and gives as much as He is pleased. Keep on asking! (“Seek and Knock”) by being consistent, LIKE A CHILDREN OF GOD. In His service, A.T | |
