Some of the big surprises of the night were the wins Emmy for the final season of "Friday Night Lights." To say that fans of the series of heart NBC / DirecTV would be filled too lightly.
First executive producer and head writer Jason Katims won an Emmy for best dramatic film written and gave a speech beautiful, full of grace that ended with "clear eyes and full hearts, can not lose." Katims won for the final version of the serial number, "Always," which beat "Mad Men", "The Case", which was expected to win in this category.Shortly after, clearly shocked Kyle Chandler won the best dramatic actor. A man who is his coach, Eric Taylor, "FNL," the five years to hit "Mad Men," Jon Hamm and "Boardwalk Empire," Steve Buscemi, for example.
"FNL" former star Minka Kelly, who was one of the presenters of the award, gave him a big hug, and Chandler took the stage shouting "FNL" fans from the audience.
"I knew that I would not be here if you do not worry about writing anything, and now beginning to worry me," said Chandler. He did it thanks to the casting director and producers of the program, and also "the people of Austin, Texas, who received us in your home and packed stadiums and brought the spectacle of life while there. God bless you and thank you."
When it comes to impromptu speeches, Chandler is clearly not the same Coach Taylor, a locker-room speeches are the stuff legends. But we can be forgiven Chandler for tripping a little ', and not granted a greeting to his wife on the screen, five seasons, Connie Britton (Tami Taylor, Alias). (Try to thank Britton after his microphone was turned off, and had a few moments with him, gesturing toward the stage, so everything was really nice.)Chandlers moment on stage was true to life, it was messy and real and beautiful. A bit like "Friday Night Lights."
Who would have thought this show, whose future was in doubt so many times, would get not one but two Emmys after five seasons in the air. Amazing.
