I have encountered many scammers and have been scammed a few years back. Now I'm very careful. I will be sending information on a couple from this site. thank you Unfortunately I deleted the pictures of this person and the information he sent me because he was sending me threating emails so I closed out my yahoo account lost it all. going forward I will keep all informaiton. thank you

Most of the Ghana women on here around the age of 30 I suspect are men posing as women. They always want to steer you to Yahoo Chat, and that is ok if they get on webcam to verify their identity. Have not seen to many Nigerian scammers on here; although, they are on many other sites. I would be interested in this new website "scamlist". thx

 
I have to say that I get very dissapointed on here, it just seems full of scammers, I sometimes play them along but got bored of that and at the end of the day thats not why i came on the site. Hope you can clear it up on here.

WOW! I can see you people are so disappointed! And i understand why. There are men scammers, too. Lucky me i have found only stupid ones! And lazy! They dont even want to do the job correctly! Because for them it is their job. As i said, lucky me i found only stupid scammers, they dont even know English well. I am Latin American, my English is not perfect and I never visited US or UK, but i have spend time learning English and can say when a person is american or not, even better, i have learn to detect when a person is real and really wants to be your friend.
Have been member of this site for a while and i am glad to say that i have meet a FRIEND here. Only one, true, but ONE. I have been lucky enough to find this person, and who can say that he is the only one i will find? I am sure there must be others real, true, whorthy to know people.

 Some of us are tired of being hurt and the last thing we need is a scam. Unfortunately the scammers have forgotten that we are all humans with beating hearts. I have personally been scammed into marrying twice....by American women. Scamming has become a way of everyday life and it's terribly rampamt. Television commercials, newspaper ads, magazines, and people trying to sell you crap. Personals scammer have to be the worst kind as they are toying with someones heart.....the one and only true thing we all carry with us every second. I hope you catch and destroy the network of personals scammers and for the individuals who scam, I hope you rot in the hell you will create........!!!!

Just to be clear, I don't work for this site and I am not responsible for removing profiles! I am doing this because I am fed up of people trying to attempt to scam people like me and you, who at the end of the day are here to try and find someone to share their life with..not their bank account! When I have a good selection of scammers the site will go live. The more information you can give the better it will be for people out there to identify with the scammer and a photo...well that speaks volumes, its much easier to see a photo than read through (potentially) thousands of profile data!

Scam is the #1 problem we are facing with this site now, and since we don't do manual profile administration, as we can't afford it, it is difficult to weed them out. We do block a few countries from the site, but they always happen to find a workaround.

Any ideas welcome. We are now prepping moderation tool that should help to reduce the problem.

 
Well to be honest, I think this site will not exist much longer if they do not clen it up. We all have storys to tell and as it was said i dont come here for this but this is what i get Scam scam scam. The numbers are dropping off the people on the same and they still dont remove them. COme on just open your eyes.

Just so you know, there is already a site based on anti-scams. its up to you to find it. and they list what defines a scammer as one according to what they say or ask, whether it be by email or chat. this list that i am speaking of consists of a an average of what you and i have been there. Those women arent women at all but men. and since they want to chat with you right away - offsite. then while they are typing do <start><cmd><netstat -a> for xp/vista/2k - replace cmd with <command> for 9x this will show active connections. you could also use Systernals tcpview or check your firewall. If you are using a NAT, you'll have to check your firewall log if it logs. IP info can also be revealed thru webcam chat, and email. Some say these guys know how to spoof. I dont beleive that to be true. Just my 2cents.

I have had round 9-1200 scammers this year, and they are rollin in all the time You have the flowerman (woman) the 4u man. but u can smell them all the time. its a pity 2 of hundred is ok.

For John: NOT ALL women from Russia are scammers. Do not generalize if you don't want to be generalized. If you are an aged person you have more risk to be scammed seeking a beautiful girl younger for 20 and more years...
Maybe i am lucky person but it seems to me that it is very easy to recognize a scammer if you do a little job to think

Just to justify my comment 4PPL are 4Scammers:

Uno and the team are software/script developers. They develop the script that is running 4PPL. They dont charge to join this FREE dating site, whats in it for them??????

I will tell you whats in it for them, they are developing the script running 4PPL to eventually become a commercial product. Theres nothing wrong with that other than there are far better scripts out there like PGdating Abledating that far surpass this script.

Of course the report button does not work. We are not PAYING for it to work. BECAUSE this is not in effect a free dating site. Its a front for software/script development, and of course Uno and the team WELCOME scammers.... it ups the member list therefore giving the script a great workout.

Nothing in this life is for free except the love you can give freely, and Boonex/Uno and the team are in my opinion abusing this factor and will only start to "try to eradicate" the problem when they are close to a commercial venture with the script that runs 4PPL so it shows potential customers that there is measures to deal with scammers.

I appreciate the time and effort Uno and the team work with the script, it takes many many man hours and they cant probably moderate a free site like this in all fairness.... so the simple answer is ( if Uno & Team are dedicated more to making a dating site and are concerned with genuine members ) is to charge to join or communicate with others. But my thoughts rest with the fact they care more about the possible commercial venture :)

I see that those sites you mentioned have affiliate partnerships, and I wonder! At any rate. I think having scammers and/or spammers around suck, but you know. you know about them being here and yet your here. hmmm. so, let see. I am a SysOp of a BBS thats been in operation since 1982, now Telnet. I put it like this. If you dont like it leave. my Tagline is " when our hobby becomes only your hobby is trouble."
In so far as 4ppl is concerned, its up to them not you or I should they wish to go commercial. One thing tho. they will and thats a WILL deal with scammers when they start to charge because then, if they dont. I Sue Under a class action. along with a anti-trust filing and complaints with FTC. you get the idea.
As for russian scammers, true not all are. but, should their email header contain "THE BAT" AND they mention its a cyber cafe then THEY are scammers.

Yep scammers are number one problem here, but also on sites like match.com, RSVP, and all the other dating and relationship sites out there. A paying community or site will not prevent them to sign up.

Scammers are known to steall Credit Card data and pay with those.

Most governments can't do anything because it is out of their jurisdiction. The FBI or any organisation similar surely can watch them but that is all.

The problem lies in the coutnries of origin. There the politics are mostly corrupt and a "few" dollars in the right hands and they run free.

Another issue is is anonimity. Scammers work under false names, from internetcafes and use WU or MG. Untraceable and often with forged papers or an inside source. Scammers do not work alone, they work in groups and with worldwide contacts.

It is the responsibility of the community to warn asap if you spot one, and more importantly DO NOT CALL SOMEBODY STUPID OR DUMB IF THEY FALL FOR A SCAM this is the reason loads of people do not report. Just because the community is laughing at them. Scammers are good in what they do and they have "victims " in all layers of the community.

I think you should consider carefully regarding Arrests and so forth in other country being made by US and State agencies., Consider this carefully - If the US can reach its long arm of the law to arrest somebody in AU for copyright infrigment (theft of a song)(that person is serving 7 years with half million that they must pay back) just what do you think they can and cannot do ?
Read or re-read Patriot Act, and its close cousins. after reading, you'll be freaked out.

BOONEX own 4ppl.com and they happen to have bought one of your recommended better "scripts" AbleDating/ AE Dating and have improved that and it is now called Dolphin and this site is run using all the addons and improved versions called SHARK. you can check out them at http://www.boonex.com and DOLPHIN is offered free to its members where as under AE Dating it used to cost in the region of $690! The report button does work if you click on the bottom report button of the email message. Even though the site is full of scammers, there are not many free dating sites left on the net, so we should be a little thankful that 4ppl is free....what is thye say you only get what you pay for! lol.

I think that they are all scamers on here so it is not often i come here for what.

Most experienced "dating" site users can spot a scam immediatley. A key giveaway is an over zealous offering of a Yahoo ID and extra photos. Also watch out for interactions seemingly coming via a translation organisation. Many other clues that dont take the skills of Sherlocke Holmes to figure out.

Its pretty simple to stop the scamming .. make sure users CANT get email adresses or websites anywhere inserted in to the site
