On mother's day we payed tribute to one of kenya's greatest mother,Echo the Matriach Elephant of the Amboseli National park,who passed on at 2 pm on May 3 2009.She had collapsed the previous day and was unable to raise again due to old age and the drought that has hit the park as well as most other parts of the country.She was the most famous Elephant and a leader of a family of about 40 elephants and a star of 4 films namely; ECHO OF THE ELEPHANTS 1993, ECHO OF THE ELEPHANTS THE NEXT CHAPTER 1996, ECHO OF THE ELEPHANTS THE LAST CHAPTER 2005, and most recently AN EYE OF THE ELEPHANT,a film about MARTYN COLBECK'S work.
Echo's family's mourning the death of their mother,sister and grandmother and we the animal lovers will miss the majestic figure that had suvived the 1970's and 80's poachers's bullets,For dcades she gracefuly led her family in the Amboseli jungle, her long tusks was a sight to behold
