Any ideas Western Conference Predictions Heres the 2nd part of the predictions blog, didn't want to do this either,hoping to put it off,but i already said I would do it,lol. so here it goes.NORTHWEST DIVISION:Vancouver louis vuitton Canucks; Not a question here, solid all over,great offensive lines,solid defense that added Hamhuis and then Ryan Parent just recently, and great goaltending with Luongo,I know he fails in the playoffs,but this is the season,and dispite that like many people I have them as my Cup favorite for the 2nd year in a row.Colorado Avalanche; Had a surprising start last year and almost faded out of the playoff picture down the stretch.The team have good veterns like Stastny and Hejduk and guys like Duchene and O'Reilly who I'm expecting to improve on last year. Team is solid down Centre,and have two solid scoring lines as well as a good third. Defense wasn't great last year,giving up far too many shots.should be an area thats worked on this past offseason,if not could be a long year. Net was solid,but will it continue this season Should be in the palyoff hunt but no guarentee.would've had Calgary in this spot,but think some of the odd choices Calgary made might do more harm then good for the team.Calgary Flames; ,their goaltending is solid,Kiprusoff is one of the leagues best and should continue this year,questions are why bring Jokinen back rumors are even some players and the coach questioned this one as well everybody had off years last year,was this a fluke or a sign of things to come Defense have some good guys,Bouwmeester is great but not that great,I feel he's over-rated,Regehr is fully healthy and should help,this team have question marks and need to have a bounce back year,dispite this should contend for a playoff spot.Edmonton Oilers; Offense is their weapon,was last year,until Hemsky got injured,but with the additions of Hall,Eberle andMagnus-Paajarvi,the team has three solid lines that can score and have good depth up front,would love it if the Leafs had this depth up front,lol. Khabibulin is back after last year being out,so Edmonton has goaltending that they lacked last year and could've helped them.Defense is the question,they

lost 3 of their best defensive players this offseason,being Morneau,Pisani and Staios.If the offense lights it up,maybe the offensive guys will help out in the back end this season.special teams was another issue,with the additiona of Hall,Eberle and foster,their PP should improve. depending on the last two areas,this team will battle like others for the final spot and could go as high as 2nd in this division.Minnesota Wild; Finished 13th in the west last year and never really improved much this offseason,so its going to bold well for a team that hasn't been the same since Lemaire left the coaching duties here.last year their offense was given more freedom,but didn't far much better then when Lemaire was in,their defense,which was among the best for years,was among the worst last year. Goaltending was a strength and I saying was because due to the wilds lack of defensive help,Backstrom faced more shots and more breakaways and had a bad year,if they continue like this I can see another bad season.CENTRAL DIVISION:Detroit Red Wings; Hudlers back,Modano is now here,added to a team that is pretty well identical last year.Only issue was/and is age but doesn't seem to be a factor with their puck posession play.prediction;another 50 win season and another cup louis vuitton favorite.Chicago Blackhawks; the Cap hit them hard,losing key guys like Byfuglien,Versteeg,Ladd,Eager and so on,guys that helped them to victory.still have a solid group of guys,though weaker at the Wings now,defense still solid and have Turco in net,a position which wasn't too much of a factor for them,still should finish strong but don't see a repeat of last year.St.Louis Blues; last 3 years,STL was one of the top teams after Christmas,just fail before hand,this could be the year that changes.Mason is gone,but welcome Halak,a goalie who was solid every year in Montreal and who performs better as the pressure hits him. two great forward lines and solid defense,they played well in their end last year.I see them being one of the better teams in the west this season.Nashville Predators; Offense,not that great,51 points was their best player in Hornqvist.Team is solid on defense and net and will have close,low scoring games again to have a chance which they are capable.Hamhuis is gone,as is Ryan Parent,both to Contender Vancouver,with those gone Nashville still should have no problem filling the void as they have done in the past with their deep talent pool on the back end.Should battle for a spot and with Trotz coaching,wouldn't be surprised if they sneak in the playoffs.Columbus Blue Jackets; the team that kicks everyones butt in the EASPORTS NHL series every year can't duplicate it in real life,those that paly the game know what I mean.finished 14th last year and didn't add to the team at all except Morneau which should help defensively up front but this is an issue they don't have as even on defense the core is all

stay at home defensemen without much offense,which is an issue and a reason they were seeking Kaberle.Offense is even good,caable even of producing on a nightly basis.Goaltending had a bad season,but should rebound. Biggest issue with this team Every year same thing and I say the same every year: ROAD WINS. at home, 20-12-3-6,on the road 12-23-2-4. why they can never seem to win on the road I don't know,I know teams have issues,but shouldn't be this bad,if they can improve there and somehow develop a puck moving D,colud move up finally in the standings,but on playoffs.PACIFIC DIVISION:San Jose Sharks; no arguement here,solid on all areas. Got rid of goaltender Nabokov,who was solid but failed when the pressure was on,especially during the playoffs,welcome Chicago castoff Niemi and Niittymaki. time will tell if the duo will be the key to the Cup,but they will finish on top of this division.Phoenix Coyotes; This was close and between them and LA. Phoenix brings back the same team with the addition of Ryan Whitney,though older,should put up 20 goals and add 50pts.. Also they resigned Lee Stempniak,who didn't perform well in Toronto,but added 14goals in 18games with Phoenix.not saying he's gonna score 50 goals,but should put up 25-30 goals.Defense had a breakout year and assuming no breakdowns,should do well,If they score this year unlike last year,should be another playoff year.. Goaltending is a strong point,Bryzgalov will keep them in most games.Los Angeles Kings; I said this was close as both LA and PHX are mirror images.LA has better defense,but Phoenix has the edge in goaltending,only key was offense as both lacked and Phoenix added minor additions but should help where LA hasn't .After Kopitar,Doughty is the next weapon,which isn't good,though Drew had a great season the offense should be able to contibute more upfront.Goaltending keeps improving and should be another playoff year despite offensive issue as their defense should hold them in most games.Anaheim Ducks; solid forward lines,1st line one of the best in the league and 2nd line Louis Vuitton Shoes should be decent,but goes down after that.efense is a huge issue and hasn't been the same since the Beauchemin,Pronger and Neidermayer days,its an area thats rebuilding and will improve in time.Starting goaltending has been solid,but ofr the 1st time back up is a concern.How many games will Hillier play and will the backup provide the relief needed. could be a long season for the Ducks.If the defense somehow rebounds,could climb,but can't see it happen,possibly in the hunt however.Dallas Stars; No Modano for the first time ever,Turco also gone. team should be able to score,being 11th last year,but their other areas are concerning. Defense is young,and honestly still need grooming,unless they mature could be bad once again,need a potent #1 on the blue line. and two goalies who haven't proved themselves and the team is hopeful will impact with Lehtonen and Raycroft,two former backups with Lehtonen taking the

reins,should be interesting.except Raycroft and Modano and Turco gone,this remains the same team,can't see them advancing in unless everyone has a great season.Thats about it,this one was a little longer as I did more research this time,glad I'm done,won't have to do this until playoff time,lol.
