That was a title for a movie not so long ago.I just loved it since i could identify with it in the fact that many a times i find myself situations where putting a message across turned out a dilemma.
My English teacher used to emphasize to us to think in English when writing or speaking the language and would urge us not to do direct translations. But that proves hard when a language is your second or third language. One naturally thinks in there mother tongues. So when you directly translate the mother tongue to another language the meaning of what you intended to say changes. There is also words that mean one thing and something totally different in another. I have met with people from many parts of the world and i just love it when we converse, them speaking in their translated English and when they say something i quickly run it in my mind in my mother tongue and i' m like ooh that's what they meant then i as quickly translate my answer to English.I think doing all the translation adds fun to conversations and languages. And it would be so boring if we all spoke one language. So anyone out there who'd like to share with me language exchange? Unrefined? But not raw.
