Come on man! If you really pay attention to all that "exotic metaphysics" you would know there is no heaven or hell, only what you make it, and that God aint forcing you to wipe your feet when you walk in His house, if you don't like it well then bump along. Some people like being close-minded and blind and have their own peace in their tunnel vision ignorance, but that doesn't mean it's your duty or your job to expose the truth to them. dear Lucifer999, I was half-sided with your Blog till I watched the movie. I am now in line with your thinking. The movie was very intense and makes one think very hard about things.
I have always been skeptical of traditional religious thinking, but smart enough to keep an open mind. But you have valid points to consider and I am very thankful for people like you.

god is not forcing you to do anything you dont want
but you must understand that the universe is full of laws and that obeying or disobeying those laws has consequences
now if the law says ,thou shall not kill,well,you may decide to kill and bear the consequences or if the law says thou shall not steal ,you may decide to steal and bear the consequnces
if the consequence is life then you have it ,if its death,then you have it

A delusion is a belief that cannot be proven to be real, or true. And, out of which the person cannot be talked out of. Funny enough, god & religion fit this definition. So, they could very well qualify as mass delusions.

God is simply telling you the truth about the world we were born into. You can choose life or death, darkness or light, good or evil. He is telling you the consequences of your choice. He is also helping you decide and giving you help if you want to choose Him. If you choose evil and change your mind He forgives you and takes you back no matter how often you do this. He came to earth as a man to explain all this to us knowing it would involve suffering on His part. If you go to Him he gives you eternal life. I do believe that if you are with a particular church, You may believe you are going to heaven, but there is another church that will say you are doing it wrong, meaning if you do not follow their way, you will not make it to heaven.
If it was all very true, then there would be only one religion and one church!
Lucifer is right, Faith may fall under delusion! No real proof of a real and living god. It is only based on faith.

God is not evil, simply because there isn't any such thing as a 'God' or a 'Devil'... Both just sides of the same false coin.

People believe in 'Religion' simply because they are genetically programmed to do so.
In the early days of man, if you saw movement in the grass, you had two choices,

1. Walk towards the movement, in which case you found out it was a rabbit or bird or lion or hyena, and in 50% of those cases the gene for natural curiosity and correct answers was over, along with any potential off spring that would be genetically predisposed to seek answers...

2. Run away from the 'Evil Spirit' and hide your head in the sand, and make up stories to cover your cowardice.

In that case, 100% would survive to reproduce may offspring that have the same genetic predisposition for hiding from truth and making up stories.

Then we come to the 'True Believers', the ones that are so mentally warped they have 'Visions' and hear 'God' talking to them...

I can honestly say that I do not know if God exists or not... as for religion, i don't believe in it..I believe that all religions are just cults trying to control their sheep (followers)... Nothing was written about Jesus's miracles until he had been dead for 200 years.. and as for Mary being a virgin when she became pregnant, couldn't have happened, because hse was married to Joseph, and back in the day, they had to show proof the morning after that the marriage had been consumated... so maybe joseph wasn't getting any, but someone did, and Mary may have convinced him that she was still a virgin....heres a thought..we hear all about these alien abductions and people becoming pregnant by aliens in the rag papers all the time.... maybe mary was the first one it happened to..lol.... anyway, stay true to your beliefs.... who knows maybe i'll see ya in the next life, ..peace out

1. Where your only choice is to be God's servant, or reject him and, die eternally. Servant(??!!) not quite. It was the faulty Greek translation that screwed up things...

Just passing through, and with a completely third-party perspective, I'd like to say something. At very least Lucifer is dealing with as many facts as possible, and doing it well. He has come to a conclusion that he feels is incontrovertible, and still he debates it - a strong sign of a good thinker, even as he has yet to be convinced otherwise on his conclusions. Whether it is right or wrong is a question he invites people to debate, because he certainly thinks he has the right of it. He believes that either there is no God, or if there is then God is a mobster, a Blackmailer of the highest order. Lucifer is therefore entitled to be smug and slightly arrogant about his worldview, because it includes allowances for such things - if indeed arrogance and self-awareness go hand in hand. :) All this to say: those of you who are disagreeing with Lucifer based on a belief in Christ, or in God, or in a righteous fit of indignation? I'd urge your side to do it kindly, and civilly! You are actively subscribing to a different standard, and one that places the bar rather higher than most. I don't think Christ would have levied these harsh words (read: harsh=insults like "freak" etc.) at the very people he was trying to save.

the contemporary meaning of lucifer is devil.

so many words were were co-opted by certain languages to describe certain phenomena alien to their culture
the idea of lucifer( devil) predates latin just like the idea of christ predates jesus
what matters is their comtemporary meaning not their latin,greek, aramic swahili or whatevver other language you want to use
