Enjoying life even with death

Life presents issues, potential drama to each of us. One couple is living apart yet talks on the phone each day. Such strain. My sisters husband died last Thursday. He took it well, was prepared. My sister is taking it well too. I had the privilege to be with him a lot including in his last hours. He enjoyed hearing stories about my kids when they were young when he no longer could talk much. He enjoyed stories: H on the subway tracks age 2, baby no where to be found?, "no, is a gog!" and others. His biggest smile was about my ever so pretty big sister when I was 4 and crashed the car. Fear | One's Self | Desire We can stay in the middle giving in for a while to neither Fear nor to Desire. "I am not afraid of anything, Uncle Bruce." "Well, instead think about Aversions. How do you feel when you are stuck in traffic? It is 93 degrees out, very hot. You car has no air conditioning. The dashboard is too hot to touch. Anyone will start to get upset when that happens, right? How you react once you see that you could get upset is a Choice. It is that choice to be calm and to accept what you need to accept that is a Big Key to Living. Shade! Of course. Park the car. Sit under a tree." Dying? A friend told me he's been in the near death place 5 times. He met the same angle 2 times, wants to see her again, he does. 1% chance there is nothing after death. If so, hurrah! Game over. No one to care. 99% chance there is an existence afterward. Some small portion of that 99% says could become part of multiple others, whatever. Mostly ... all 5 religions say we continue in some form and that how we continue is just, is based on who we are when we exit from here. That's it is those large odds that fit how I live. Desires? Well, I want to move and to get a different job. Where to move is not clear. Perhaps to a warmer climate. Likely I'll stay here in the Boston area for another few months at least. When in fear, breathe deeply, then walk ... even to another room. God is good to me each day. Bruce
