Make no mistake. The universe we live in is an unfathomably, enormous expanse of the blackest nothingness. Punctuated by tiny dots of nuclear something. We live in the light of that nuclear something. Our entire evolution on this planet, will have been a less than brief flash, when its all over. If there is a god. It's not thinking about us. I love to think that we are autonomous little gods of our own collective domain. For the short time that we're here anyway. Religion just tries to bind down and humble us. For it's own business agenda. I believe that we're here, because we've always wanted to be. Desire is probably the most fundamental thing we experience. And fullfilling desire, our most fundamental goal. Desire is almost certainly the first, and last thing we will ever experience. And, we almost always wind up frustrated. When we allow ourselves to depend on outside sources. To provide us with desire fullfillment. Until we take control of our own desire fullfillment. We are doomed to repeated frustration. And I believe, that even just thinking about fullfillment. Can put the process in motion. Ever had a wish fullfilled? Happens all the time. And we write it off as coincidence. I think we all have the power to, (at least in part) fullfill our desires mentally. (Or magically, if you prefer.) We do it without even meaning to. It's why people pray. It's why we blow out the candles on our birthday.
