Did anybody watch Cops on Saturday, June 13, 2009? The last segment had me rolling on the floor. I could not believe it. Let me set it out for you...

Call comes in from local grocer. Cake has been stolen. Gal in green sweater ran out of supermarket with cake, and did not pay for it. Holy cow, police APBs, (and this really cracked me up, it is no longer called "shoplifting", it is now "commercial burglar!" (my eyes are wet from LOL). Best part, not 1, not 2, but FIVE cops track down the residence after the aforementioned $10.00 cake!

To Reader's Digest this, they charge the son with conspiracy to commit "Commercial Burglary", and the mom goes to jail. They return what is left of the cake to the ownership of said pastry.

Is FOX so desperate to put something on the air that they have to send 5 cops after a cleptomaniac? Or is crime finally a thing of the past in the US? Here in Canada, it is considered "Theft under $1000.00, and you would get a fine." Unless, of course, this was your 43rd "Theft under $1000.00" ;)

Just thought this was such a ridiculous event to actually air on a national network "plus the fact no mention of priors, and no other stolen property was found", 5 cops (including a sheriff), for a $10.00 cake .............WOW!
